MEET THE FOUNDERS - KENDRA

Kendra is originally from the Southeastern United States and first discovered her love for travel during a gap year in Scotland before university. What began as a year abroad quickly turned into a lifelong passion for connecting with people, exploring diverse cultures, and learning through lived experiences.

Over the years, Kendra has lived across three continents and traveled to numerous countries, but it was India that became her home. Drawn to the country’s incredible diversity, rich heritage, incredible wildlife, and bustling local markets, she found herself immersed in local communities and eager to share these experiences with others.

What started as informal tours for visiting friends evolved into the foundation of Routes & Realms—a company built on the belief that travel should be meaningful, people-centered, and deeply rooted in culture. Through Routes & Realms, Kendra invites others to explore India not just as tourists, but as fellow learners and seekers of authentic connection.

MEET THE FOUNDERS - KUMAR

Born and raised in Northern India but with family heritage in the Southern region, Kumar has had a lifelong passion for exploration and cultural immersion, and has always believed in the transformative power of travel. After spending time traveling and living in other regions of the country, he came to recognize how thoughtfully curated journeys can leave a lasting impact, not just on travelers, but also on the communities they touch.

This vision led to the founding of Routes & Realms, a travel company dedicated to creating unique, personalized experiences that go beyond the typical itinerary.

Kumar’s approach focuses on uncovering the heart of a place, its people, stories, and landscapes, while fostering meaningful connections between travelers and the destinations they explore.

Driven by a desire to inspire a sense of wonder, curiosity, and global awareness, Kumar’s mission is to help others experience the world more deeply, one journey at a time.
